FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Opening Sunday, February 3rd,
a.Muse Art Gallery is pleased to present Chris Leib,
Heidi McDowell, Tessa Merrie, and Christina Mazza in a
group show of contemporary drawings.
Chris Leib creates large scale graphite drawings on
paper that capture the human figure suspended in a
private moment of personal introspection.
Heidi McDowell ambitiously tackles in graphite the
intricate patterns and textures of bird specimens
taken from the San Francisco Academy of Sciences'
ornithology collection.
Tessa Merrie, inspired from childhood hikes in the
Scottish Highlands, draws organic matter in various
stages of decay. The images are portrayed within
delicate compositions and intimate spaces.
Christina Mazza works exclusively in ball-point pen on
various paper surfaces, drawing fragile and intricate
discarded objects from the sea, forest and urban
streets.
